Does all I hoped it would, and for 1/2 the price of newer models. GPS seems very accurate and the reports are great. Not sure how accurate the calorie counter is, seems high, but the heart rate monitor and tracking is excellent.

By reading “The Help” by Kathryn Stockett I learned a lot about the unwritten “rules” that maids were expected to follow and that segregation was quite extreme in Mississippi during the 1960s. The main story line is that one of the white ladies, Skeeter, gets the maids to share with her what it’s like being a maid and how they feel about things so she can write a book about it. The author actually grew up in the south and had a maid. I was fascinated by this book which revealed a very different community from what I am used to. I liked how Abileen, the maid who took care of a little white girl used to tell her “secret” stories that were teaching her that people are people, whether black or white. “The color of the wrapper doesn’t matter, it’s what’s inside that counts.” It is entertaining to read what the maids thought of the families who employed them and is a thought-provoking book.

This pedometer is fantastic, After having such bad luck with previous pedometers–one broke when I dropped it, another was just impossible to figure out settings–I decided to give the Omron a try based on another amazon review.

Am I glad I did. First, the pedometer has a separate latch in addition to a belt hook, so today, when the belt hook detached from my jeans, the latch attached to my pocket caught it and it didn’t hit the floor. Second, the set-up is so simple, even I could do it!!! Third, it gives you both total steps and aerobic steps, so you don’t have to keep substracting your workout walk from your daily total. And fourth, you can stick it in your pocket if you want to and it actually works!!! No more trying to make sure that it is positioned directly above your knee.

The price is right and this is a wonderful product.

THE ITEM PRICE WAS IN THE CATALOG, BUT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN REASONABLE TO GIVE US A BULK DISCOUNT.

Definitely worth having. Easy to move from one car to another. Easy to adjust the angle of the GPS to see more effectly while traveling and not distract from driving. Leaves no marks on windshield or dash to indicate the presence of a GPS when absent. I am able to stash it under my car seat when I leave the car.

Catcher in the Rye has many relevant meanings for the teenagers of today. Holden Caufield’s confusions and frustrations are those of most teenagers who want to connect with other people and belong to a certain social quota. J.D Salinger presents to us a novel full of symbolism, imagery, and adolescent complexity that fufills it’s overall goals of giving us a glimpse into the life and psyche of a troubled and disturbed teenager who tries making connections with people he doesn’t know ending up in, as mean as this may sound, humorous failed attempts. The overall theme in this novel doesn’t comply any moral as did Ovid’s fables back in ancient Greece. Catcher in the Rye tends to be more interpretive in that manner. Holden’s inability to truly connect with people is due to his inability to immature and let go of pain.
“People never notice anything” (Pg 9). It’s in this quote that we really see what type of person Holden really is. Nobody around Holden seems to understand him, seems to understand his angers and confusions. Everyone is just as about as “phony as he is”. It’s in these beginning chapters we notice that something is wrong with Holden. something that doesn’t quite match up. He’s a white male with well-off parents that can afford to send him off to boarding school and he purposefully flunks out by not even attempting to study. It’s not until later on in the novel that we learn of James Castle and his brother Allie that there is a reason for this rebellion and personal wall that he has erected for himself. It’s how Holden breaks this wall that makes this book powerful and a very compelling and humorous read.

On a recent trip to the Vatican, it detected all nearby pedos. I was impressed by both the range and accuracy. The unit is even capable of detecting pedos through walls in adjacent rooms. I would definitely recommend this unit for anyone in need of pedo detection.
